I used to watch Brians videos too. I'll say now what I thought then. That stuff will never get near my machines. I don't want to see red in my machines even though it's my favorite color. I've heard pros and cons from mechanics about it. I'm not taking any chances with it when I know the oils I use now will do their job.

Marvel Mystery Oil is mostly just a solvent: kerosene. Use can use it to clean but not good at all to lubricate. The kerosene is de-oderized and wintergreen oil added for the pleasant smell. For more info look up Bobistheoilguy and search "Laboratory Analysis of MMO". I would not use it on a sewing machine. It's not in my garage either.

I have used a red oil from a large can, but I can't remeber if it was Marvel Mystery oil, I may have to try it again. A favorite of mine is Finish Line Ceramic Wet Lube (transparent bottle with gold cap), and I have Triflow; how does the mystery oil compare?

At bicycle shops. Works on muddy chains. Who knew! I love it for all my old machines.

I got my first Tri-Flow from Sew-Classic.com and have found it on Ebay in larger bottles. It is at bicycle shops. No problems with it.

If you get it in a bicycle shop, make sure it is not the DRY kind. That's all that is carried here now. I get my Triflow online or from sewing machine dealers we know.
