Marvel Mystery Oil is mostly just a solvent: kerosene. Use can use it to clean but not good at all to lubricate. The kerosene is de-oderized and wintergreen oil added for the pleasant smell. For more info look up Bobistheoilguy and search "Laboratory Analysis of MMO". I would not use it on a sewing machine. It's not in my garage either.
