Default Need manual for Kenmore 5186 sewing machine

I have been given several old sewing machines from an estate and plan to give them to people who need a sewing machine. Some of them had the manuals with them, but I cannot find a manual for a Sears Kenmore #5186. I have looked everywhere on the Internet for one but cannot find even a photo of this machine. It is probably 30 to 50 years old but I cannot be sure. It is like this machine never existed! I looked all through every reference to Sears, Kenmore, and Janome with no luck.

If any of you QB folks know anything about the Kenmore #5186, I would very much appreciate it. I especially need the manual for this machine.

    Thanks in advance.

Posting a picture of the sewing machine might help us help you.

I think that's the model # for the motor...not the machine. The model # of the machine will more than likely be on a metal plate on the front underside of the machine.

path 49 is correct. The machine model number will look something like this: ###-###### . With actual numbers of course.

Oh, I am so embarrassed! It did not occur to me that the number was for the motor. Duh! Thank you so much for the information.

I did find a website that has manuals for all kinds and models of sewing machines.

    http://www.tias.com/stores/relics/

I did find the illustration of the front and back of the machine (so many variations!!) and I ordered a manual from there; it will be a photocopy of the original. This site is great for anyone wanting a machine manual of just about any kind.

I needed the manual so I could give the machine to someone who is going to make Weighted Blankets for people with autism. The weighted blanket is used for sensory soothing. She will make them for people who can't afford to buy them.

Thank you folks who responded to my message and for your help.
