Default Ok, collector's and experts I'm gonna pick your brain....

My husband called from the shop and says this lady showed him a pictured of a sewing machine cabinet that looks kind of like a box. The top opens and there's a sewing machine inside ( not sure if it is the original that came with cabinet.) it is a Pfaff. Then you pull out the front of the cabinet and it is a chair or bench with storage also in this cabinet. He says the picture shows lots of stuff in the cabinet too. anyway, she wants $70 for this cabinet and machine and all. Does this sound like a deal to you? I've never seen anything like it or heard of anything like this but did a google search and found a couple of photos he says sounds similar to the picture he saw. Do you all know anything about this kind of cabinet? The pictures below are what I found on the computer on someone's blog but they don't know anything about it either.

I've seen one before and it had a Pfaff 130 inside. JMO but it depends on whether you love the cabinet, the machine and the condition it's in. The one I saw had a more natural look to the cabinet so maybe this one has been re-finished? If you're interested go take a look. You can always try to talk her down if the price doesn't seem fair once you've seen the machine.

I remember seeing Pfaffs inside a similar style cabinet/chair combo. I think the ones I've seen were a little plainer though. I don't own one but I'm under the impression vintage Pfaffs are good machines. It's probably worth the money if it's in good condition.

You know your stuff Candace. It is a good deal, even if she doesn't want the machine.

If you like the cabinet style it's a good price. Many times the seating has been lost or trashed. Add in the Pfaff- I agree it's a steal.

A vintage Pfaff for $70 is a great deal. If its a 130 it's a steal. I would snap that deal up without even thinking about it.

They used some very innovative cabinets. That vintage German engineering can't be beat. Let us know what you decide.

I had one for a while. I believe it was called a Model 44 Hollywood Cabinet. It had a Pfaff 230 in it when I got it.
