Default Can I pick your brain?!!

Ok so I have a neon wonky star quilt I have pinned and ready to be quilted. And for the life of me I cannot decide 100% what design to do! Normally I have my quilting ideas figured out while I am piecing it but nothing came to me with this one. I originally wanted to do concentric circle spiral design all over then I was thinking spirals in the grey and pebbles in the stars but I have no idea. The only thing I do know is that I am using a light grey thread lol. Thanks for any input!!

I think I might reverse the order and do pebbles in the grey background to have the stars puff up and do a minimum of quilting on them, maybe echo the shape? Great quilt top!

You want the stars to come forward so pebbles would not be good unless in the background. I think I would do an overall design on this one. Very cool looking quilt! Nice job!

I love the fabric you chose!! I LUV bright prints on a black background. You made a very bright happy quilt. I also would do the background so the stars will pop!! Good Luck !!

I haven't done a lot of machine quilting so I would echo the stars (I'm a straight forward kind - and easy! but I also do think it would look good - as would the other suggestions)

I would absolutely pebble the background and do the minimum I could get away with in the stars to make the stars pop.

I would quilt lines radiating out from the centre of each star to the points at maybe 1/2" scale. You can use rulers or draw it on without needing to buy/download stencils. Check out here:

For the background, I tend to like this one:

but if you really want pebbling on the background you could try this one:

OR treat the backgound as a 2ndary pinwheel design and also quilt with radiating lines.

Hey, there!!! Newbies are the same as experienced when it comes to being creative! I always listen as sometimes we can get into a rut.
