Pfaff 1229
#2
Do you have a Pfaff dealer near by? One that might have someone that has worked there for a while?
I downloaded a manual for Synchrotronic 1229 from http://www.pfaff.com/en-US/Support-and-Updates/Support It is a neat looking machine. I have a Pfaff 1471 that needed an internal part and remember it was kind of tricky to get the top off and back on. Your top is different, but has the handle and kind of a flatish top. It looks like the bobbin winder tire is underneath and is different from many of the vintage machines seen here in this forum. I think that there is probably quite a bit of plastic bits that may be brittle by now.
I think when I was trying to find out what the 1229 looked like, there was a youtube video or maybe more about the Synchrotronic 1229. You might want to see if any show how to take the top off to replace the bobbin winder tire, if you want to do it yourself.
