Pot Motor grease

Pot Motor grease

Hi all,

Just wondering what everybody uses for their pot motor grease. Is vaseline still a viable solution for that?

For the grease wicks, yes. For the gears close to the motor housing, I would use Tri-Flow grease, or some other non-flowing lubricant.

Thanks Mark. What about automotive grease? high temp moly or white axle. I don't have any tri flow at the moment.

Those greases will work for the gears, but try to stay with those that do not solidify as they get old and will stick to the gears and be flung off.

Buy your grease on ebay...It is Singer brand and it is 3.99.
