This old girl is in pretty rough shape.
Would she be worth their asking price?

WOW that poor machine has seen some abuse......... personally I would pass....... you'd be better off paying a bit more for a good machine. IMHO

There's a good site on line that explains how to repair, you can buy parts-they go for a lot more in good condition. If you (or someone who loves you) can do repairs-why not??

Poor girl! She needs to go to the ER !!!
I don't have an answer for you. Maybe ask Billy?? (lostn51)

I would also pass. You will find a nicer one. By the time you get this one looking decent you will have invested way to much time for what you can purchase a nice one for. My time is worth sonmething!!!

she would be a good canidate for a special paint job...

Annaquilts 05-24-2011 06:11 AM

Definitely pass. $50 is way too much for that.

irishrose 05-24-2011 06:25 AM

I'd pass if you care about looks. You could probably get her to sew, but it's an aluminum machine and once the rot starts, I'm not sure it can be repaired.

I came across this one too. But after paying 50 then think about the money you will put out for repairs. This one looked like it had been thru WW 3 to me. I am sure you will find something much better. I am just looking for a treadle.
