Cool, a crinkle! I just love the old friction drives-they have personality. :)

This Graybar is a bit different...more utilitarian looking. It had a stool with it that contained some loose attachments but I haven't had time to really look into the contents. Here, at last, are the promised photos.I hope the photos are OK as I am doing it a bit differently this time. The rest of the waiting line consists of 3 treadle Whites and one New Home electric in addition to this Graybar.

My Graybar looks just like yours. Mine is missing the electrical cord. Do you know where I can find one? Also, how do I date it? Mine came in a desk like cabinet with a knee pedal.

I can't help with date.

Do you have the actual plug, just no cord? I'm pretty sure the plug just unscrews. If so, just need to put new wire on and screw back together. I'm pretty sure I have one similar. From my understanding there is no modern day replacement plugs. A few sites/threads you may want to look at:

There is another thread, but can't find it now.

I think I have read where they have rewired the motor to work with a motor block.

Graybar is a national company that sells electrical parts. They used to sell all kinds of appliances. It would have been badged for them.

AnnetteB if this is the pug you are looking for it, will be very difficult. I bought a parts machine just so I could get one. In three years I've only seen two in the wild.

It maybe called a Chicago plug. not quite sure on that. There may be one very similar to it that is.

According to post #8 of https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...a-t235150.html it looks like Chicago are molded and Manhattan are screw apart. I think Singer screws apart, too.

So working on cords could be part of the Manhattan project?

Thanks Janey, I won't see you Saturday.
