So I made a table. The wood cost was $20.00. I love it.

I love your idea! makes for a great surface for sewing notions or holding cutting mats. Looks like you have a Singer in a card table in the background.

Great idea for decorating a sewing room! Thanks for sharing with us!

Very pretty! Doesn't it make you feel good to make something beautiful out of what someone thinks is trash?

Beautiful. I hate it when folks scrap the machine and top just to make a table, but yours is a true rescue.

I totally agree. One of our local resale shops lets them take them apart. They have several machines without cabinets. I am just glad I found it before the garbageman showed up.

Your table is beautiful. This is apparently the fashion trend here in NYS. When I purchased my 27-4 at the local flea market the gentleman said that if I wanted only the machine he would sell it that way because his daughter knew someone who made stands out of the bases. After seeing your table it gives me an idea. Make a table to use now and then after refinishing the cabinet pieces reassemble for the machine. If only I had enough room!

I didn't rescue the base, I paid a lot on Ebay, as it was exactly what I wanted.. I put a three foot glass top on, and use it as my kitchen table..
