Help! Can't make up my mind. One is a Peerless and the other is a 'I don't know yet'.

I really like both. The cabinets they come in don't make a difference to me.

It will most likely be my last treadle. I have 3 already and might add just one more.... for as long as I can hold out! ;)

She also has a store with very reasonable prices. I ordered a pack of 10 bobbins for my treadle and they were only $4, including shipping. I can't find bobbins that reasonable at the Hancock's we have.

Can you use modern presser feet for the treadle machines? I would love to get a walking foot or quarter inch foot for my treadle. I don't trust my quarter inch seams without one.

Ashley, your New Home most likely takes an obsolete needle. I had one like it that sewed fine, but I had only 3 or 4 needles to go with it. I finally put it on the raffle table at a TOGA. The needles do show up once in a while--check around and see if anyone has any!! Unfortunately my brain has limited storage, and I can't remember the # offhand, but perhaps someone else can chime in??

This is the machine I got from ebay. I had been looking for one to convert to a handcrank and this will be it. I already have a treadle and a want this one to be portable.

It is in great condition and the wheel turns freely. It does need a new tire on the bobbin winder but I will purchase that when I purchase the handcrank handle from SewClassic.

How do I tell the difference between a "G" and a "C" on the serial number????? I'm going with C but I'm not sure...

I have several 1/4" feet for my Singer-type treadles and cranks. Not sure about the walking foot, but if you have a vertical foot machine, it should work.

I am posting pics of a sewing machine that I bought off ebay, and when it arrived it was in pieces. It was in perfect condition, but was packaged poorly. It was insured, so I got my money back, but they didnt pick up the machine.

I am hoping to fix it back up, but....

There is some bad damage on the bed of the machine where the Japan has chipped away.

I am looking for some guidance as to what to do...
I am going to start today trying to glue the wood base back together. There is a hole in the bent wood cover that I am not sure I can fix.

Billy, can I do anything for the bed of the machine where the chip is?

It is more than likely a "G" I have run across a few machines that the "G" looked like a "C" but that was because the die was damaged during the stamping process. Post the serial and I can tell you from it which series it will come under.

The "G" Series was the largest series done by Singer.
