The stories everyone has told are really touching.

With the long weekend coming up I wonder how many of these "older Ladies" will be finding new homes?
I know we will be keeping an eye out.

Long weekend coming up, I'm planning to stay home and work on some of mine. Hopefully those shopping will find lots of good deals.

Is there a WRONG reason to buy a machine? I think she's pretty!

I have two pink Japanese clones, an Atlas that is a baby pink, and a Monarch that is more a salmon color, but both have their original matching pink foot controls. Both drop the feed dogs and sew like a dream. Fast and straight.

We'll take William so he can drive, haul the Uhaul trailer with all of our goodies, and manhandle the machines, and remind us to stop and eat!

Ok! Now that you are talking about stopping for food, I'm in!
Got to hit some "dives" with yummy good food. One of my favorite shows is "drive-in, diners, and dives". We will need to stop at some of those places along this expedition.

OK, y'all!! Now I am definately in to this expedition. I'll be saving up my pennies so I can afford to drive up to Charlee's to meet. WooHoo!! If this becomes reality, what a blast this would be...truly!!

I will start saving mine too. Pick me up on your way North!! I would love a road trip!

You got it, Penni...I'll bring the cargo van so we have plenty of space to haul our goodies!! LOL We could even camp out in the back with some air mattresses and sleeping bags....leaves more money for goodies!! LOL

We are also staying home for the long weekend. Sewing and working on some of my vintage machines sounds very good to me.

BTW, the black 301A with the gorgeous cabinet that was listed last Sunday night... I wrote to her on Monday and never heard back. Today it is not listed. ...on to the next vintage machine. I wonder what she will be? So far, I don't have any 'he' machines. Oh wait, I actually do. The last machine (Singer 401A in an orginal cabinet) I bought is for my grandson and it is named Taylor. Silly me. :-D

Maybe I better do photo shoots on the long weekend also. I am wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy behind on posting my machines.

HHHHMMMM see who is laughing and cheering when this is over.....
I'll tell you what I'll have the yard sale and you all show up and fight over who gets to buy what...

That paints quite a picture in my mind... we would all be ladies about who gets what... wouldn't we... wouldn't we... ladies, ladies, come on now, we are all friends... from the same vintage sewing machine cafe, right? LOL

How about a round robin of rock/paper/scissors!!! This could be very interesting!! :-) (Watch Charlee whip out $5, grab the machine and run while the others are distracted with rock/paper/scissors!!!!) LOL

I'm in central MT. Make sure you include me. That sounds like a fun road trip. I may even talk DH into coming. He's good for hauling the heavy stuff too. He'll want to stop at some of the wineries.

Marie M.

Welcome, DH!! Wineries are fun, too!!! :-)

Hi all, after being unable to connect for a week, we're finally able to get some Internet. We're both sitting at a picnic table in the next site over typing away! We're at a camp ground in Burlington, Vt after spending a couple of weeks traveling N first to Va, then to Ottawa, Ontario, then back S towards but not directly home. Got offered a fairly nice 301 today for $200, much more then I can pay. Guy said it worked well, hadn't even bothered to clean it up, but it did have the case.

All the rest of the machines except for the 99 I bought and sold in 3 days in Va at the beginning of the trip have been nothing special. I bought a souvenir thimble in Canada and a few bits of fabric from thrift stores, no great find yet!
