In the corner of your picture I can see the knob for lowering the feeddogs. This knob was not used one the old black Singers. It was used on the ones from China and Tiawan from the 70s & 80s.

Well I am satisfied now that I know. I sure like the way she runs! Can't wait to make a whole quilt on her...if I can keep Billy away from it long enough! LOL Thanks for your help

Is there a bird in the room or does that machine chirp. My dogs perked up when I was watching it. He sure looks like he is having fun.

That's my treadle...she just chirps away because she is happy to be in use! I love how happy she sounds!

I got 9 machines total. Then the auctioneer got tired so he says $5 each takes all - well that was going to be $300 and half of them were plastic machines and then there were cripples and some that maybe could be combined to make one machine - no foot controls parts missing and who knows if they worked, so I had to force myself to pass - there were some more I would have liked to have gotten for parts. Oh well. What made me sick was the Amish guy bought them and tossed them in the back of a pick up truck. Then he tried to buy a couple I picked up - I'm hanging on to them. I don't even know for sure what I have - they are going to the shop some time tomorrow. I guess the Amish guy doesn't need foot controls... Then I was standing around waiting to see what else was coming up and the DIL of the deceased said they took all the good machines to Indianapolis to an auction..... a couple weeks ago..... ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's an interesting machine I (fairly) recently acquired, a White 670 appropriately named Radiomatic:

The color is more intense but what I really like is that the width and length indicator windows are lit by a dedicated interior bulb located to the left of the hand wheel, so 2 bulbs total. The machine takes cams (door on top) and has a 1 amp motor. Surprisingly, the width knob isn't spring-loaded, but it can be locked. I believe the 670 was also badged under the Stradivaro name. |
I like that White. The White I have that takes disks (that are AWOL) has a left hand needle - yours has left/center/right. WOW.

Love that White. I like how so many of the 50's/60's machines mirror the cars and dashboards of their time. That color is my absolute favorite - for SM and cars!
