I am looking at a nice treadle with a serial number of 6457911. The way it reads (unless I am messed up) on http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_numbers.html is that numbers from 6.005.000 - 6.524.999 were issued in 1884. The next issues were in 1885. Billy |

Charlee: on the serial number, I didn't understand how you felt it was issued in 1880. I will look at it again but maybe I don't really understand how to read it.

I found the model number to the Kenmore. Model 117-959 (serial # 101334). Any information you can give me on it is appreciated. Here's a picture.

I have had an old treadle that has been packed to a few different homes of mine. I know it had been left out in elements for probably decades. I can't even imagine doing this. Well, with the last move the cabinet literally disintregated, the peddle broke into pieces and I have been wanting to save the leg sides for some type of commemorative somethin'.
We dug the machine head a few hours ago to investigate. This is fiddle base. Under the plate that is open is only the number 6. I think it is my Damascus that has serial numbers in this same place. Notice the etching in the body. We can't find any other defining numbers on the machine. Where the badge was, we can make out a clear capital I. Any ideas on this machine? see the shallow etching? Billy, Charlee, I found these attachements in its box, assorted attachements and some odd bobbins. They were found in a house that was being demolished. No sewing machines :cry: I have no use for them. Do you think anyone can use them? They can have them for the postage and maybe someone will get some back mounted feet for my 66-1 for postage someday. Glenn PS hope you had a safe trip to Nashville.

Glenn...I'd love to see pics of them...especially the bobbins, since I *really* need those for both my 9W and my W&W!
