what machine uses these cams?

I was given these cams and I want to give them to someone who can use them. There is no indication on them or the box what make they are. Anyone know what machine uses them and is there anyone who can use them for their machines.

Those are the same cams my Dressmaker 7000 takes. I've seen at least one other badged machine that used them. I don't need them, but Miriam has one of those machines without cams. She might.

For us newbies. Whats a cam and why do you use them. :)

A cam can be either a removable, or built in, irregular shaped disk that when engaged creates a stitch pattern. Notice the irregular shape of those in the picture.
Cams be be plastic or metal, separate or in a stack, large or small as in the picture. Modern machines use electronics or computers to do the stitch patterns, but the older vintage ones used the cams with mechanical linkage to make the patterns. Cams went out of vogue in the late 70s to early 80s I believe. Joe |
OK how do I find Miriam?

Well, look right here in this section or the Vintage Machine Shop section for "miriam". Then PM her.
Or, here's the link to her profile: { http://www.quiltingboard.com/members/miriam-u31354.html } Joe |
The unidentified cams look like the cams my friends Janome uses.

I have an older Montogomery Wards Signature machine & it uses cams that look very much like those. They make great decorative stitches.
