Default Project machine

I've got an old Singer with super stuck parts. I've been spraying PB Blaster in it every week but its still stuck. It's supposed to be 90 today and tomorrow so I'm going to set it in the sun to see if maybe the heat will free it up. If this doesn't work is it possible to take the thing apart, clean all the rust off, put it back together and have it work? When I say take a apart I mean the inner rods and such. The machine is a 1910 model and there really doesn't look to be too much involved. Any suggestions.

i have 2 super stuck machines, too. Mizkaki has recommended Kroil oil like you would use oil, careful of the paint and heat. Turn it every direction and turn the hand wheel. On mine the bottom moves freely for reverse and free motion. We are thinking the stuck part is the needle bar. I took apart the pressure bar - it had some kind of bad dried up oil in there. Once cleaned it works fine. I assume the needle bar has the same. I haven't found a local source of Kroil yet. It is on my to do list. I have two machines stuck. Mizkaki says when they are like that it is usually the needle bar.

This one has been stuck since I got it, about 6 months ago. The hand wheel will not turn and the needle bar and tension thingy seems to be free of rust. The insides are another story. I tipped the machine on its face plate(removed) and sprayed PB Blaster into the center cavity. It didn't drain down so theres a clog in the middle. If this doesn't do it I'm going to pour evaporust in and see if that will do anything. After all that, if its still stuck I'm going to start removing rods and such till I get it freed up. I'll take pictures of each step so I know how to put the thing back together.

You are not getting your chemical where it needs to go - the needle bar is stuck in it's shaft.

The evap-o-rust could do more harm than good - don't use it. Wait a couple days until Cathy and I can put up some kind of tutorial. I have two to try to fix. Maybe Joe or someone will have good info, too.

I'm remembering why I haven't got any of it yet... I'm not having any luck finding it locally - here is what I did find:

It may have to be ordered on line. I've been calling car parts places and so far no go.

http://www.kanolabs.com/google/ at the top of the page is a google deal - you really have to want a lot of it but it is a better deal than anything else I could find. I could not find it locally. I'll start something when it gets here. I have two machines to test it on. I hope it doesn't take all of it...
