Default Reminder on Threading White Rotary

The spool of thread must be in the post so that the thread is to the back of the machine (counter clockwise) as it goes to be threaded. Ya would not think it would matter but it does. When my tension is off I now look to see if I have the thread pulling from the front. Yep, again! The tension is perfect always except for this.

I still have 2 white FR that I have not paid attention yet and have it even tried how the stitch is. Thanks for the tip.

I just got one of those Whites that looks like an Oreo cookie. Wilbur thought it was terribly funny. Lovie looked at it and and said it was going to be a LOT of work. I'll have to remember about the thread going along the back.

I noticed that when my White Rotary was new to me. She does sew such a pretty stitch too.

oreo cookie = black embossed.

I found the same thing on the white FR's. white thread patch needs to be the least resistance.

singer takes the patch of the most
resistance, The same fallows at the bobbin

When I bought my Singer 301 in 1956, the salesman came to the house. He told me to always have the thread coming from the back of the spool. So I have always done it that way. I think the reason has to do the the way the thread is put onto the spool at the factory.
