Default Removing the dreaded white tape

Glenn (Skipper) taught me to use naphtha on a rag. I worked for quite a while.

You know that featherweight comes with a seam guide and thumb screw that you put in the hole you taped over or the hole to the right. If you lost yours, they are easy to replace on the internet. That said, I'm glad you were able to recover, without damaging that beautiful machine.

This was done on a Japanese clone. The featherweight's do have seam guide markings. A featherweight finish will turn cloudy if you use naphtha. If you use alcohol on a featherweight it will remove the finish. Naphtha cloud can be restored by following Glenn's method of refinishing the machine. This is only about removing the white first aid tape. Pure and simple but can take a while to get the white off the machine.

Yes, it does work well. Use caution with the used rags - put in water when done. Lighter fluid is very combustible. Naphtha = Lighter Fluid
