Default Replacement electric cords

Does anyone have a source for replacement electric cords for our vintage machines? I'm looking for the "matching color" ones like blue and green or do I have to settle for black, brown, etc?

Kathie,

I've found the common black at many sources, then white and brown at some places. I've never found any green or blue electrical cords. I do wish I could cos I'd like to color match a couple of machines too.

Cloth is the only thing I've found too. I was going to use either white or clear on my 15-125. IF I ever get the handwheel off.

That thing is going to be $#%&....

During Christmas time I occasionally see green ones at the tree and lights display sections. Lot of good that does right now though ....

I've found green extension cords, and blue and pink hair curler or iron cords at thrift stores. I prefer cotton covered on oldies. I dont feel comfortable with clear as I've seen the conductor oxidize and corode in as short as 2 years. domestic cotton covered wire I get from auction site
The inner insulation seems of better quality than hardware store

That is a good question. I don't think anyone is making different colored power cords like that anymore. Thrift stores, Ebay, places like that are your best bet. Black, white and brown are about it for new stuff.

I wonder if it's possible to dye the white cords....

ink diluted in a bucket, immerse, check occasionally. Rinse and rub to test for colorfast?? art supply store? just gotta be careful of those which might effect dielectric (insulating) properties.
