And this has the top leaf tension and the narrower throat plate (this one I'm sure in teh National Seamstress model, I own one like it).

I still sew on my mother's New England Queen that was made by National in Belvedere, Illinois. Mother's is in an oak cabinet with the same leave design on the front middle drawers as in this eBay picture that MacyBaby posted. It is the exact same cabinet, only the black iron has N.E.Queen on the sides also in black iron.

Hello, To who have posted information on my treadle. I have been trying to post pictures but my computer will not cooperate right now, I will keep trying. Macybaby the two machines you had posted from ebay, I have the one with the
wide thoart plate and tension knob. I will beso appreciative of any information that I am provided with. Yes I would be disappointed if my machine is not very old, but bottom line iam just happy to have a complete working treadle.several years ago I purchased a Eleldridge treadle, at the time I didn't realize how much of the machine I didn't have. Have been
trying to get it up and running, now that I have The Bartlett I can continue to work on the Eledridge but won't be so ticked off that it is taking so long. No matter what I find out about my Bartlett I will be pleased just to have the information. Trying to learn how to work it right now, can not wait for the time when I will be able to quilton my Bartlett.Again thank you to all who have and will have provide me with information. Hopefully I will get the pictures posted within next few days.

Christy - Eldredge merges with a few other companies and formed National, I think this was the late 1800's. So unless you have a very early eldredge, it's goihng to be made by the same company as your Bartlett. If that is the case, and they are both VS machines, they'll take the same shuttles and most likely the same needles.

They should also take the same attachments except for the plates, since your Bartlett has the wide plate.

Let us know what you are missing with your Eldredge - it's likely it won't take much to get them both up and running.

This is usually caused by the pictures being too large for the website. if you can shrink them to 640x480 or something like that, it would probably work fine.
