Singer 626 metal gear Identification
All;
Do all Singer model 626s have metal gears or were some manufactured with other materials?
If some where made without, what should I ask the seller to check if I want an all metal gear machine?
Thanks
Keith

I don't think I've welcomed you aboard yet. Welcome!
The only way I know to be certain is to remove the top and bottom covers and look. I think it's just one screw for the top.
Plastic replacement gears are available and are fairly reasonably priced so plastic gears aren't the end of the world.

Thanks Rodney, I think I'll just keep waiting until one turns up "locally" That way I can inspect it personally.
I appreciate the welcome, and love the Tag line. Especially the "annoyance" part!
