Default Singer catalog no. 3-110 in Houston, TX area CL

Someone posted this on the Houston, TX area Craigslist. http://houston.craigslist.org/atq/3205325908.html I'm not looking to buy another machine right now, and on the off chance that this might be a good one for someone else, I thought I'd mention it here. The person selling it doesn't seem to know much about them. I'm assuming the number is from the motor because the similar number on the motor of my 1953 Featherweight is 3-120. When I googled "Singer 3-110" several Featherweights came up, but it may be that Singer used the same motors on various models. It might be worth asking the seller to check the underside of the machine for the model number, and certainly would be a good idea to ask for some pictures and find out what is included. I know no more than you do from reading this ad. The Clear Lake area is in the far southeast of Harris County, about 50-60 miles from where I live.

The machine is a Singer 221 Featherweight. With all the paint loss on the bottom of the machine, I'd be worried that there would be rust on the underside/bobbin area of the machine. The catalog number is okay, it's still 110 volts. I'd also make sure that the bobbin case is there, would want to see the face plate too. Sometimes that helps to date the machine too.

I emailed him prior to him adding photos and jhe was insistent that it was a catalog 3-110 and that was the identified model number. Im in dfw but i would offer him a lowball figure because it needs alot of work and im looking for one.that is in rough shape for photo shoots that i can.custom.paint. no clue if he would ship it though. Also no mention of a case or attachments
