So does mine, isn't that wierd?? And I have had it in every year for cleaning, and no one ever said anything to me.

I found the only problem thread when using my Pfaff is when I tried to use Aurifil. For some reason it just kept coming out of the bobbin. I can use any other thread and no problems whatsoever. I just don't use Aurifil--problem solved.

Isn't this strange, my Pfaff 2044 is kind of picky with Gutterman thread if the weight is heavy. I think I could solve the "picky" issue by adjusting the weight of the bobbin thread.

My loves Aurifil. Despite being mechanical or "robotic," the machines still have "personalities."

Hmmm - - my 2054 is pretty picky, too - - maybe it is begging for attention. Will try cleaning as you noted. Thank you.

The hook is the thingy in the bobbin area that grabs the top thread and bobbin thread to form a stitch.
