Help identifying a Singer (friends ebay purchase)

I think it's a 348 but the Uk ones don't seem to be blue?
Has she bagged a good machine (it sews a damn straight stitch and the table is in v nice cond).
Is she looking at plastic or metal gears on this model?
(I have not yet seen the machine in person only ebay pics)
