Is the foot pedal flat wood piece? I haven't seen that before.....of course I am not very savvy on treadles at all. Looks kinda neat.

I have never seen one of these before and like CD probably walked right by one in my hunting - now I will have to look at the furniture at the antique/thrift shops a little closer - LOL!! maybe on my hands and knees! DH will think I'm crazy!! (well.... he already thinks that but......)
