Vigorelli sewing machine
Has anyone ever heard of this name brand machine. I went and looked at it. nothing worked on it. dirtiest machine I have ever seen. thick heavy dust was in every crevice. I want to give it some TLC but just could not justify $25 for it. the salesperson was sayong the desk was worth that much. just not sure.
this is what it is suppose to look like.
any ideas?

If that was close to me it would be mine. it is one good looking machine and cabinet. Does not take that much to clean up a machine with dust. take you vacuum cleaner and use the small flat nozzle to suck that dust out and off it. then oil her up and grease her up and she will run like a charm.

I have a Vigorelli from the late 70's. Italian, all metal, heavy, top of the line at the time, workhorse of a machine. Definitely worth the price, rarely needs servicing, but when it does parts can be hard to get.

I had a call from the store this morning. He will take my offer. I have never tackled such a dirty machine, but I think I will. I love to make things shiny again. When I was a wee lass in my thirties, I went looking at motorcycles with a boyfriend. We were taken into a lower level that was full of old bikes that were all dirty. I said give me a rag and let me make some of these shine ... The salesperson mentioned this to his boss, who called me, and offered me a part time job just to shine up the bikes. yippee I was in heaven. I even took on the shop bathroom that had a three spigot sink that I don't think ever seen a can of comet. But it was shining when I was done. Great job and great memory.
This what I will be tackling. and nothing works because it is soooo clogged with heavy dirty dust.
