Then..at one antique store, an awesome 1912 Singer 115 with Gold Wing decals in a model 22 drawing room cabinet. They wanted a mere $500, so I didn't even get to say "I want"! For the most part, the day was a bust tho....not many machines there, and attachments were non-existent!

Charlee, it sounds like you at least had fun, and that buttonholer for $4 was great. I saw one the other day in an antique store here with a price tag of $35 on it!

This makes me sad.... I saw her on CL this morning and thought.. that which she is coveted for has been ruined. Someone wanted to clean her and didn't know what to use.... she can be had for only $29.00

This is why I only use sewing machine oil to clean my machines. Some think they are removing dirt, only to find that the decals are silvered and gone. Poor thing! Maybe someone will pick her up for a repainted; gussy her all up to make her pretty.

So last night on my way home I stopped at Lowe's and got a cut piece of Birch plywood to make the top. It's really got a nice grain to the top. Now maybe I can coax my DH into constructing the top for the treadle.
