I can understand not wanting to make a stink in this situation but there is no reason he can't let you do the searching for him. He may feel better knowing you will be willing to look for him.

How can someone possibly lose that part? That's unforgiveable. I wanted to buy a new one of my New Home machine because it was sticking and they were around $80!! I sure hope they find it for you, or replace it!
