I belong to a Church group and our mission is to make quilts as community service. We began 3 years ago as a ragtag group of about 5 or 6 and have grown to about 25. We receive a bit of money from the church, and use that for batting and backing but rely on donations of fabric and our own stashes for the quilt tops. Our stash at church has grown and it is always fun to figure out how to make a quilt top from someone else's purchase....for instance, who buys snakeskin printed flannel? It's fun, and anything that I use out of my stash, I consider my charitable contribution.
