I learned to sew on my mother's treadle machine as a child. I loved sewing and made my own clothes and later clothes for my children. I even made wedding gowns for both my girls. My mother made utility quilts for our large family which she knotted. Later when she had fewer children at home she started piecing and machine quilting lovely quilts. I retired at 55 to have time to quilt. I work part time from home but it still allows me more time to quilt. I too have multiple projects going at one time. Usually they are in different stages of completion. What I work on often depends on how much time I have to work or what time of day it is. I like to have hand work to do when I sit with my husband in the evening.
