I see you met the screw from Hell!! That is the one that if you have to take it out you have to remove the presserfoot bar.
But for this question, loosen it up a bit (one round or so) and make sure the presser foot lever is on the screws shank (wiggle it around until it is against the screw head) then you tighten it up and you should have no problem.
If it still is giving you grief then you will have to pull the presser foot bar out of the machine and completely remove the lever and see if there is nothing behind the lever or the screws head.
But do not be scared of this it is really easy to do and not that complicated. But first try wiggling it first. And if that doesnt fix you up then I will walk you through how to take it apart.
