Thank you for saying. I've done them both ways. I prefer paper pieced --- no matter how careful you are, regular piecing can still come out slightly different in size block to block. This quilt is paper pieced using 1" finished logs. It was a very random selection. Whatever I grabbed went next, except I wouldn't put the same fabric next to itself. This is a good one to get used to paper piecing. Linda Causee has a few books of patterns that are really nice. Have fun with it!
