Actually once I square up the HST, I sew the block widthwise and then lengthwise and I only finger press the seams (and I press them open - HORRORS). I don't press with an iron until the block is finished, something quilt instructor/writer/expert Jackie Robinson teaches in her classes. But, one does what feels right to one's own self. Belles
