I'm soooooo curious about how this one was constructed...Can't help you with a name...I'm noticing from the photo that the diamonds are not pieced where they cross over to the next color block, does that make sense?
I may not be explaining what I'm seeing...I can't help but wonder if they didn't applique part of that. Please be kind enough to post a couple more photos of close ups...or just re examine and let me know what you think they did to prevent seaming the diamonds...I just can't imagine anyone taking the time to match the prints so well that a seam didn't show, and then be so obviously careless with the matching of the points in the intersections of the four diamonds...oops...hope that didn't sound too critical...I so admire the old country quilts and the women who worked with what they had...they could find a way to make the most of the least and their ability to create beauty when function was the primary goal will never cease to amaze me!
Thanks so much for caring for this old quilt and for sharing the photo with us!
