Check this out. It's a 20 by 20 inches woollen hand-stiched wall hanging and it's backed with cotton. It seems to be cross-stitch and I think it is Italian because the backing is stamped in Italian (It says dry clean, unless I'm mistaken.)

The maker has alternated which stitch is on top ie right to left or left to right. It cost me $12 and I love it.

I appreciate that not all of you will like it as it's quite bold and that isn't to everybody's taste, but I'm planning to sew a sleeve on the back so I can hang it up in the living room.


BTW We call them op shops (opportunity shops), rather than thrift stores here in Australia.
