Great looking fabrics. You ought to try to get to a local Wal-Mart and see if you can find a Japanese style print by Cranston Village for their V.I.P. line of fabrics. Below is a pic. I used some of this to make a fabric bowl with, but it looks like it would be good for your koi project as well.
Thanks for the advice, I don't think I could move this big quilt enough to do anything that would need to be anything other than meandering...
I'll do that. The fabrics on the left side are only (fat quarters) I picked up a few geshias to. Do you think they would work into this new one?

I was thinking this could be the center and as the fish came to the foreground they would get bigger with the fabrics
