Actually, I do this all the time! I don't do any handwork because of a pinched nerve in my neck, so I machine sew my bindings. If you sew it to the wrong side and fold over to the front side it is very easy to see where you are sewing and can get a very neat seam. Also, sometimes I use the buttonhole or applique stitch to finished the binding on the right side. Especially if I have used the buttonhole stitch in the blocks. Fast, fun and easy!
