I couldn't agree with you more SuzyM about the first quilt being so special. Years ago when I made my first completed quilt I gave it to my son. He used it for 3 years while in high school and took it to college. After college he moved across country and that was his security to "home." The first Christmas he was far across the country and couldn't come home he sent me a gift. It was a shadow box with the corner of his/my first quilt with some sewing needles. thread,a seam ripper and a message that was so heart felt to this day it is my favorite gift I've ever received.
