I have the yellow 6" x 24" - and an older one (French brand) with black lettering. To cut strips wider than 6", I measure the extra bit with the old ruler (eg - if I want a 7" strip, I measure in an inch from the edge of the fabric), butt the omni 6" up against it, then cut my strip. Obviously being careful not to move the first ruler. Sometimes I'm really naughty and measure and cut by the mat - but I saw Ricky Timms doing it once on Youtube so can't be THAT naughty! LOL
