Hi, I have to give you my opinion on this. If your grandchild is really interested in sewing and admires your machines please keep this in mind when buying her one. Do not make the mistake by getting her a toy machine. She will tire of it as it is a toy. Get her a machine that has more than a few stitches. How will she grow as a sewer if she is limited by the features a machine doesn't have? I'm not saying get her an expensive machine just one that she will be able to grow with and one that has a nice variety of basic and decorative stitches, a one step buttonhole, needle threader , drop in bobbin and one she won't have to lube.
