For those of you who were following my progress; I spent today cutting my fabric ready for stitching tomorrow.
I am on week 2 of my holidays and well on the track to have the top of this quilt done this week.
My girlfriend Karen supplied me with a heap of fat-q's on Monday, and I was able to select the 18 greens for my quilt. I rejected a few of the greens I had from my stash, and the basket weave fabric in favour of a few of the greens that Karen gave me.
Here are what I call my treetops - ready for stitching. The background of this quilt instead of white fabric, is homespun broadcloth - very much like calico - a raw, unbleached off-white fabric. I've also shown here the greens ready for the 9-patch.
What do you think of the colours?
