Double pairs of Half Square Triangles! I'm so sorry. We quilters forget and abbreviate names of blocks and patterns that the newcomers to quilting are lost in our lingo. It's not a dumb question at all. Thank you for asking. Lots of viewers now have their question answered with thanks to you!! Thank you so much ProudGranny5. Now that you mentioned it, there are numerous ways to do a HST and the fastest way is to lay one block (RST) right sides together with your contrasting piece of fabric, draw a line diagonally from corner to corner and sew 1/4" away from the line, down one side and back up the other, chainsewing several at a time. Then cut the block in half on the line you drew. Open up. Now you have 2 HST's (half-square triangles)!! One block makes 2. So to make this quilt go fast, cut 2 blocks out to end up with 4 HST's!! Or cut 4 blocks out to end up with 8 HST's! Hope you have fun making this quilt and thank you for bookmarking it and commenting! BTW, what a nice group photo! Your GD are just adorable!!
