Beautiful quilt! I can relate to the difficulty with needing control regarding scrappy piecing. I have the same problem. My daughter came up with a solution for me. I cut a lot of 2 inch squares and then she put them in a brown paper sack. She challenged me to take a square without looking and then I had to use it as the next piece in my block. It was a very painful experience but the resulting quilt was gorgeous!
I like that idea, don't know if I'd cheat though! I made Joey a strippy lap quilt a while ago and had him chose and hand me the strips, although I did pre-sort them into lights and darks then tell him which value I wanted! :lol:
