I debated on how to show the construction on this one. I also have sewn strips together and then cut sections to create one row at a time. But I have a tendency to get diamonds instead of squares when I do that. I find it harder to keep the seams straight that way. Using the 4 patch minimizes the stretching that may occur when using the single row at a time construction.

So you can use any method you like but I think the 4 patches make it easier to make tiny blocks without having to handle 3/4" pieces. I realize many will think 1 1/2" is small to them but it works to make this size quilt block with some accuracy and less hassle.

A word of warning tho make sure you are as accurate as possible when you cut out your blocks. this will prevent having blocks that don't fit right.

So I hope you have fun with this! If this size is too small for you then use a larger template and make coasters or any other project!! The main thing is enjoy the process!!
