I have the Janome6500 and the 6600 is the upgrade. I love my 6500, and if my budget at the time would have allowed I would have gotten the 6600 instead. It has some great features, so that would be my personal recommendation as I know nothing about the Elna. I do know that Elna makes a great sewing machine too.
