We used to go on those infamous rides as children. No seat belts, windows down, Dad driving with no hands. My little brother on his lap driving. We would be gone all day, well to us anyways. Baloney sandwiches, chips and a soda was on the lunch menu.

My father never locked the front door at night. Some mornings we would find a friend sleeping there. Dad would feed them, talk to them then take them home.
