Ditto here. When I first read your post, my first thought was "She needs to put that big thing aside for a while and start on something small -- a baby quilt, a lap-size quilt, anything small/smaller. Once you see it through the end, you will be excited to get back to the big one. You may even put the big one aside now and then to make another smaller quilt.

My first quilt was a lap-size and it took a couple of months. The next one was a t-shirt quilt that took almost a year. I've had some little ones that took a few days (machine quilted) and one even took 8 years. I finished that one as a challenge at the beginning of last year. Was I glad to get that one out of the house and to it's owner!! Yes, they are right -- hang in there and enjoy the ride.
