Don't give up. I just finished one that I had started 8 years ago. At that time I gave my husband the pieced top for our 30th wedding anniversary. I had planned to hand quilt it but ended up having part of it machine done and I did the center appliques by hand finishing it late the night before our 38th anniversary!!!!! It was worth it and turned out to be just what I wanted. Sometimes we have to wait for the "spirit" to spur us on to completion. Hang in there and when the time is right you'll go for it.
