I have recently been blessed with 5 yards of pale blue minkee material and I am wondering what the best way to sew with it is. It is going to go into a blanket to go on my king size bed so 5 yards will be more than enough. What is the easiest way to sew some regular cotton blocks to it? Should I prewash it? Does it shed or shrink? Do I wash in hot / warm / or cold water? So far I am only going to have to have one seam down the middle to sew two 2 1/2 yard pieces together so that they will fit across my bed. I have a king size bed. I want to make some quilt blocks to sew to it and don't have a clue as to what the best way to do this would be. Is there anyone here on the board that has experience sewing with minkee that can help me out? I would be eternally grateful for any and all assistance.
