I do not think that dropping the bobbin case would do that, the only way I know of to adjust the lower tension is to turn the screw on the bobbin case, just a tiny bit.

Try this first: If your bobbin case has a finger on it with a hole, try threading through the hole, that ads a little more tension.

Just so you know, I DO NOT have this machine, just a general suggestion.
